They never looked to challenge me and see exactly what I was looking for but assumed that all the inforation on their website was sufficient for me to make a decision.
Now as I do not like being sold to, which is the same for most people, someone who makes an assumption on my behalf is just waving that red flag in front of the bull. Websites really need to challenge its visitors and find out exactly what they want, not assume the perceived message is exactly what I want to hear.

Rant over but to read more, just visit...http://www.searchcreations.com/how_to_increase_traffic_to_website.html

Trevor
www.searchcreations.com

Truth or Darehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09151804571406804393noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951430309612682187.post-44222999064586889842007-02-26T07:47:00.000-08:002007-02-26T07:59:08.038-08:00Will my Site Sell, Information or ProductIf you have decided to build the content for your own website or if you have engaged someone to do this for you, there are 3 very simple questions that you need to ensure are being asked.

1. What do you want people to do then they reach your site
2. Who do you want to take those actions
3. How will you persuade those people to take that action

It is only when you start to think about these 3 questions that you can start to really think about the navigation and interactions within your site. You will also start to evaluate who your customer really is and where is the value of your product whether that is a Newsletter sign up, Enquiry Page submission or indeed the actual retail sale on a functioning e-commerce site.

Recommendations to build your knowledge - Waiting for you Cat to Bark - some free chapters at following link http://www.futurenowinc.com/publications.htm

More Tips - www.searchcreations.com

Truth or Darehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09151804571406804393noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951430309612682187.post-28992870662227362052007-02-23T06:53:00.000-08:002007-02-23T07:04:20.656-08:00Its not about YOUYour Business, Your Product, Your Sales Strategy but remember its not about you!!

Most business are trapped inside the bottle, never taking the time to stand with their audience.......what do I mean by this??

You develop a new product and think it is going to blow the market away. It has new features that your R & D dept thought up and you believe that this will really sell. You look at the functionality that YOU value highest and start to promote these through all your marketing channels, including your website.

At seminars, you can engage people and field their questions even if their questioning falls out of the functionality that YOU thought was important.

On your website, you have no such opportunity. If your website visitors are not totally engaged, if you have not delivered the relevance that they desire, they WILL click away. Have you really looked at how the customer values this new product. They may think it is also a great product but they may not rate the same areas of value which you have focused on.

Quick Note
You have to understand your customer before you can look to sell to them and you only have 20-30 seconds of an opportunity from the moment they enter your website in which to do so.

More tips - www.searchcreations.com

Truth or Darehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09151804571406804393noreply@blogger.com0
